01/04/2019

Reddie & Grose is pleased to announce that on 1 April 2019, Duncan Nevett was promoted to Partner.

Duncan joined Reddie & Grose in 2008 having completed a degree in Physics from the University of St Andrews.  In the course of his 11 years at the firm, Duncan has gained extensive experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the UK, Europe and around the world, in fields ranging from consumer products and medical devices, to smartphones and software-related inventions.

Today, he helps manage an international patent portfolio for a Fortune 500 multinational, and prosecute UK and European patent applications for various UK and overseas clients. He regularly provides infringement opinions and clearance searches and represents clients at Oral Proceedings, at the Examining Division, Opposition Division and Appeal Board levels of the European Patent Office.

Between 2012 and 2015 Duncan spent 19 months on secondment as an in-house patent counsel for an international consumer products manufacturer in Switzerland.  In his time there, he advised various business groups of potential infringement risks for new product launches; assisted with strategic IP capture for new product designs; advised on commercially focused filing strategies and portfolio maintenance; and implemented new procedures for optimising workflow with external counsel.

Duncan is one of Managing Intellectual Property’s Rising Stars 2018.
