Today (January 29th) marks World Automobile Day. It was exactly 138 years ago today that Karl Benz applied for Patent no. DRP 37435 for ‘a vehicle powered by a gas engine’. It brought the concept of the automobile to the world and transformed our expectations of personal mobility.
Innumerable technology advances have followed, and we now sit at the cusp of similarly transformational developments in the industry.
We are already in the middle of the shift from fossil fuel powered vehicles to a reliance on greener transport running on electricity or cleaner fuels such as hydrogen. Equally, the world’s biggest technology and automotive companies are bringing us ever closer to an autonomous vehicle reality.
At Reddie & Grose, we can “only” trace our history back to 1906, but take immense pride in being part of this dynamic sector, where every day is an opportunity to push boundaries and redefine what’s possible on the road.
Our team at Reddie & Grose has been at the forefront of intellectual property, protecting and nurturing innovations that shape the automotive landscape.
