As part of the UK Government’s innovation strategy, the UK Intellectual Property Office has launched a new “IP Access” fund which provides grants of up to £5,000 (inc. VAT) which can be put towards a number of IP related costs including professional fees for IP services and management of IP assets.
The fund is an extension of the IP Audits Plus programme, and is open to companies that have completed an IP Audit, under that programme, between April 2020 and March 2022.
“IP Access” aims to provide SMEs and innovative businesses confidence and financial support to invest in their IP.
The grant can be used to cover service costs related to:
- Professional fees for IP services in the UK and abroad
- The management of IP assets
- Commercialisation of IP
- Licensing and franchising agreements
- IP insurance
- IP valuation
- Tax relief advice
It cannot be used for the official fees for filing trade mark, registered design or patent applications.
Applications are open until 12pm on the 31st March 2022. For more information, please contact ipaccess@ipo.gov.uk.
