Chloe Skidmore is a trainee patent attorney in the Engineering, Manufacturing and Consumer Products team.
Chloe joined Reddie & Grose in September 2023 after graduating from The University of Sheffield with a First Class MEng in Materials Science and Engineering.
During her studies she undertook a wide range of modules focussing on understanding the mechanical properties of materials with a view to how this affects their resultant behaviours and modes of failure. Her final year project involved producing an outreach podcast series based on interviews with specialist academics within the field about their current research. This was subsequently used by the Universities Materials department on their website as part of their current outreach provision.
Chloe was also an active participant in the Sheffield Eco Motor Sports Team with the goal of engineering a fully electric energy efficient vehicle to compete internationally in The Eco Shell Marathon.
During her degree she also completed a 6-month placement at Rolls Royce in their ‘Innovation Team’ working on a number of projects, including sourcing novel technology ideas from across the company and creating opportunities for these to be implemented into the business to add commercial value.
In her spare time Chloe has a keen interest in sports, in particular netball and athletics after training and competing as a heptathlete for Greater Manchester. She also enjoys socialising and travelling.
