
Ed Nelson handles patent matters in the engineering, materials and consumer products fields, and is qualified as both a European and UK chartered patent attorney.
He joined Reddie & Grose in 2018 after completing his Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering and Masters degree in Advanced Aeronautical Engineering. His keen interest in aviation extends beyond his academic interest and into his hobby, as he holds a UK CAA Private Pilot’s Licence.
Ed has experience assisting clients through the patenting process in a diverse range of technological areas including drones, vertical take-off and landing vehicles, housing construction, oil pipelines, orthotics, air conditioning, and vaping products.
He has experience advising a wide range of clients from single inventors and early-stage startups to large, multinational corporations. This experience includes advising on inventorship and ownership issues, obtaining patents throughout the world, freedom-to-operate, and European opposition and appeal proceedings.
