Nick Tyrie joined Reddie & Grose in September 2019 after graduating from the University of Bath with a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
He handles patent work in the engineering, materials and consumer products fields.
Nick has experience of drafting UK, European and US patent applications as well as prosecuting applications through to grant in a number jurisdictions across Europe and Asia. Nick has worked with a range of clients from large multinationals to small start-ups and has particular experience with mechanical inventions, including medical devices, fiber-optic componentry and packaging. He also has a keen interest in cycling tech.
At University, Nick’s research was focused on medical engineering and the use of 3D printing for the development of affordable prosthetics and biomimetic models. He also completed a year long placement in the rail industry in a team working on major infrastructure projects around the country.
Nick spent most of his childhood abroad. He is fluent in French and picked up some Japanese whilst living in Tokyo.
In his spare time Nick is a sponsored cyclist and races around the country with his team. He also enjoys cooking and travelling.
