Oran joined Reddie & Grose in September 2022 as a trainee patent attorney in the Electrical, Electronics, and Software group.
Before joining Reddie & Grose, Oran graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London with an MSci in Physics.
Oran’s master’s research project focussed on designing and building custom downconverting electronics for use in the Laser-Plasma Driven Undulator X-ray Source (LUIS) beamline at the Extreme Light Infrastructure facility in the Czech Republic. The finished result was constructed using microstrip line circuitry and linked a re-entrant cavity beam position monitor to a digitiser for sampling. Oran also completed a research project investigating novel compact terahertz radiation sources for scientific use, notably branching into metamaterial emitters and applications.
During his studies, Oran undertook a laboratory placement studying the Josephson effect in superfluid helium and assessing the feasibility of creating a superfluid analogue of the superconducting qubit cooper pair box for use in quantum computing.
In his spare time, Oran enjoys singing, going to concerts, and trying new food.
