Simon joined Reddie & Grose in February 2023. He works in the Munich office handling patents in the electrical and electronics fields.
Simon became a German Patent Attorney in 2013 and was admitted to practice as a European Patent Attorney in 2015. Prior to that, Simon finished his doctoral degree in the field of semiconductor physics at the Walter Schottky Institute of the Technical University of Munich and at the University of California, Los Angeles. Before joining Reddie & Grose, he was a partner in one of the largest IP firms in Germany since 2018.
Simon regularly advises clients in the field of intellectual property rights, focussing on developing patent portfolios strategically with patents and utility models. He frequently conducts patent infringement and revocation proceedings. He also has considerable experience in preparing IP due diligence as well as freedom-to-operate and validity opinions. Simon regularly coordinates opposition cases, particularly in the field of electrical engineering and video coding technology before the European Patent Office. Simon is additionally specialized in quantum computing, telecommunication technology, network-, cloud-, or computer-implemented inventions, with an emphasis on artificial intelligence and blockchain technology.
Apart from work, Simon enjoys his leisure time with his wife and his twins, stand-up paddling on Bavarian lakes, reading and listening to American hard-boiled detective fiction, and astronomy.
