Sophie joined Reddie & Grose in September 2022 after graduating with an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London with an exchange year at ETH Zürich. She handles work in the engineering, materials and consumer products field.
During her degree, Sophie studied a broad range of elective modules ranging from anatomy to dynamic programming to manufacturing technology and she enjoys immersing herself in new subject areas. Her master’s project involved designing a pneumatically actuated soft membrane with embedded piezo transducers for controllable acoustic levitation in 3D, with applications in the acoustic robotics field. She was also awarded a departmental prize for a group project to design, make and test a compressed air turbogenerator as part of an energy backup system.
Having spent a year in Zürich and completing work experience in Hamburg, Sophie is professionally proficient in German and also speaks Mandarin at home.
Outside of work, Sophie enjoys trampolining, board games and playing piano. She also freelances in esports broadcasting, having worked on productions with several national and international esports organisations.
