Steve Howe prosecutes patent applications relating to electrical and mechanical inventions.
Steve Howe joined Reddie & Grose in November 2007 having previously been a partner in the Lloyd Wise group. Steve has considerable expertise in a wide range of mechanical and electrical subject matters, especially in relation to telecommunications, video and still image processing, satellite positioning systems, speech encoding and flash memory devices.
Steve’s practice focuses on the prosecution of patent applications before the UK and European Patent Office, where he has developed a wealth of experience handling cases relating to complex technologies and excluded subject-matter.
Steve has an excellent track record of representing clients at hearings, and has considerable experience of hearings at the UK Intellectual Property Office and at Oral Proceedings before the European Patent Office, including revocation actions in the UK, and Oppositions at the European Patent Office.
Steve also has experience in the area of computer implemented inventions and network control and has handled applications relating to coatings for glass substrates, microfluidic devices, stents and other medical devices.
He also advises in connection with designs and trade mark applications before the UKIPO.
Outside work, Steve’s interests include photography, flying radio controlled model aircraft and riding his Triumph Bonneville motorbike. Steve is also a keen magician and is a member of The Magic Circle.
