Yumi is a Japanese speaking Chartered UK and European Patent Attorney working in the Life Science team.
Yumi joined Reddie & Grose in 2023 having previously worked at several London-based firms. She predominantly specialises in the field of chemistry and has particular experience in polymer chemistry, detergent compositions, printing ink compositions, material science, catalysis, nanotechnology and fluorocarbon chemistry. She also has extensive experience in the field of pharmaceuticals, drug delivery and medical devices.
Yumi handles a wide variety of work including drafting of new applications, worldwide patent prosecution, portfolio management and freedom to operate opinions. She also has experience in opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office. Besides English, Yumi is a conversational Japanese speaker and has experience of working with Japanese clients.
Outside of her work, Yumi is a keen foodie and enjoys travelling to discover different cuisines.
